Report

It was really a great game in freezing conditions (but sunny like in Marbella!) last Friday Dec 9th at Stockwood Vale GC.

The golf day was sapiently organized by our mighty Rich Wiltshire, the Deus-ex machina behind RSJ Construction. His legendary RSJ Xmas Party golf day came back after 2 years of interruption and was attended by 18 enthusiastic players, mostly sober at least when the game started. Rich told me that this event was played for the first time 20 years ago. An example of golfing resiliency!

The competition was won by Martin “The Deadly Quack” Dowling, one of our serial winners, with 37 points, while second came Andy West with 35 points and third our “Welsh Machine” Keith Barnett with 32 points signing a better score (19 stb points) on the 9 back holes than Justin Norcott (15 stb points). Longest drive (at hole 16) and nearest to the pin at hole 12 to “The Long Ashton Cannibal” Warren while other nearest to the pint, pin sorry!, went to the solid Justin (at holes 2 and 6). Justin’s team won also the “Team Competition” (no one knew there was one running actually!) with 100 points while Andy’s team came second with 89 points (Rich’s 81, Andrea’s 77 and Keith B's 66 points, for the remaining teams). Last but not least, Sydney Partridge signing a score of “only” 12 points, but still very well fought, won the “Pasta, Tomato Sauce and Moretti” special prize for the last score offered by myself. Congrats Syd!
